Foster Parent Training:
Agency Training Expectations:
FOSTER FAMILY SERVICE requires each certified adult to maintain twelve (12) hours
of training each calendar year, as well as current certification in both CPR and
1st Aide. Of the twelve hours of annual training, eight (8) must be in “core” areas
including but not necessarily limited to: personal rights, licensing regulations,
positive discipline, the CPS system, child development, and special needs of foster
children.

To access the trainings offered on this website:
- Go to www.fosterparent.com
- On the left side there is a link called “Foster Parent Links”
- In that area, there is a section called “Trainings”
- Under trainings, there is a link to “fosterparents.com”
- There you will find a line that says, “Click here to go to the online training site.”
At that point, there will be instructions as to how to sign up for and take
the class. There are also instructions on how to print out your certificate so we
can confirm your training hours received. The pre-approved classes are:

- Dealing with Sexually Acting Out Behaviors in Foster Care

- Teaching Essential Like Skills to Children of All Ages
- Foster Parents and Birth Parents – Working Together for the Children
